iPod Touch Information
iPod Touch Requirements.
To use iPod touch, you need:
A Mac or a PC with a USB 2.0 port and one of the following operating systems
And
Mac OS X version 10.4.10 or later
Or
Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 2 or later
Or
Windows Vista Home Premium, Business, Enterprise, or Ultimate edition
And
iTunes 7.6 or later, available at www.apple.com/itunes
And
iTunes Store account (to purchase music over Wi-Fi)
And
An Internet connection.
Setting up your iPod Touch:
1). Download and install iTunes
2). Connect your iPod Touch to your Mac or PC using the USB dock that came with your iPod.
3). Ensure your computer is connected to the internet, follow the on screen instructions within iTunes to set up, sync and register your iPod Touch.
If your iTunes library is too large to fit on your iPod iTunes will tell you it cannot sync your content – if so within iTunes click edit » Preferences » Syncing » Check the "Disable automatic syncing for all iPhones and iPods" the within your library simply select single songs/photos/podcasts/TV shows/movies and drag them into your iPod, found in the left hand menu under devices, you can also select multiple items by holding down “Ctrl” and clicking each item you desire.
Disconnecting your iPod Touch safely:
If your iPod Touch is syncing you will see arrows rotating next to your iPod Touch within iTunes and “Sync in progress” do not disconnect your iPod during this time. You can cancel the sync by dragging the slider to cancel then you can click the eject symbol to the right of your iPod Touch under devices in the left hand menu of iTunes. When your iPod Touch has finished syncing iTunes will display “iPod Sync is Complete” and the eject symbol will be displayed.

Status bar icons:
WiFi icon shows your iPod Touch is connected to a WiFi network and the signal strength.
Lock icon shows your iPod Touch is locked.
Play icon shows your iPod Touch is currently playing.
Alarm icon shows your alarm is set.
Battery icon shows the current battery level or charging status of your iPod Touch.
Applications that come with your iPod Touch:
Music allows you to listen to music, audio books and podcasts.
Videos lets you watch your music videos, video podcasts, tv shows and movies.
Photos lets you use your photos as wall paper, view your images in a slide show in portrait or landscape mode and zoom in on any photo.
iTunes will allow you to buy and browse music directly from the iTunes WiFi store (Not yet available in the UK).
Safari lets you browse the internet like never before, rotate your screen to switch to landscape mode double tap any part of a website to zoom in for easy reading.
Calendar allows you to sync directly with your Microsoft Outlook or Entourage calendar.
Mail lets you send and receive emails using your existing email account(s) most of the popular webmail accounts, POP3 and IMAP are supported.
Contacts syncs with Mac OS X address book, Yahoo address book, Outlook and Outlook Express address books allowing you to add delete and edit contacts all of which sync back with your computer.
YouTube watch videos from YouTubes online library browse featured videos, most viewed, top rated and recently updated videos.

Stocks track your favorite stocks update online via the internet.
Maps gives you street maps, traffic conditions, route finder and pinpoint your current approximate location.
Weather provides you with a current forecast for your chosen city together with a 6 day forecast and you can store your favorite locations for fast access.
Clock allows you to view the time in different cities around the world, set alarms along with a stop watch and count down function.
Calculator add, subtract, multiply and divide great when your shopping.
Notes store recipes, create a to do list then email them.
Settings lets you change all of your iPod touch’s settings, join WiFi networks, change your wallpaper, adjust the brightness, set a passcode, set the auto-lock and much more.
